Maintenance
Following is a summary of expected maintenance for different materials.
Pavers
Stained, broken or settled pavers can be easily replaced. Colored pavers aid in hiding stains. Ants or weeds can be dealt with easily using sealers or herbicides. Color pigment is consistent throughout each paver thus the visibility of cracks or chips is reduced. Snow removal is easy due to smooth surface.
Maintenance: Low
Concrete
Cracking will likely develop, it is difficult to match the pattern and color if repairs become necessary. Repairs will leave an unattractive patch area. Oil stains are difficult to remove.
Maintenance: Moderate
Asphalt
Wear and weather will break down the surface. Black seal coat is required every 2-3 years. Ruts or pothole repairs make ugly patches. Subject to deterioration from oil drippings. Ants or weeds can be dealt with easily using sealers or herbicides.
Maintenance: High
